Building system 2, quarry changes, and a throwable bone knife
Wednesday, 11/18 @ 12:50pm EST - The update is tomorrow! Today we're seeing some stability fixes, more work on the dungeons (not in the update tomorrow), and a fix for the grass removal exploit. I'm working on the update summary post, expect that to go live late tonight.
4:38pm EST - We are just two days away from the next update, and some interesting changes are on the horizon. Given it’s the middle of the month, this update will not force a map wipe. That said, some servers - including all Rustafied servers with the exception of low wipe - will be wiping. Let’s get into it...
Building system 2
Andre has been working on a series of changes to the building system. With improvements to performance and stability along with several bug fixes, this is a very welcomed iteration. Although it was merged into main this morning, it was removed shortly after due to some bugs. Still running some tests, Andre is shooting to have these changes live this week, but said he won’t launch them if they are not absolutely stable by tomorrow.
Quarry changes
Deep sea miners will be sad to learn quarries and pump jacks are no longer able to be placed under water. Along with preventing placement, Helk has made it so survey charges don’t leave craters if dropped in water. He’s also fixed a bug which caused survey charges not to work sometimes.
Throwable bone knife
After making the bone club throwable last week, Alex continues his additions to the throwing menagerie by injecting the bone knife to the mix. I love these throwable objects and can’t wait to nab my first bone knife headshot next time a Newman looks at me funny.
Dungeon progress
Vince continues his work on the greybox models of the new dungeons. With a focus on the military and cave dungeons this week, he’s shooting to have a first iteration in time for the next forced wipe (December 3rd).
