12:00am EST - With two weeks till the update and forced wipe, some new features are taking shape on the staging branch.
Our update preview stream goes live at 1pm EST. Follow @Rustafied for news throughout the week.
Bike progress
Rust's development on bikes is pedaling forward! Just a reminder: there’s not just one, but a few cool rides coming our way. We’re getting a pedal-powered bicycle for those of you who like to keep it silent. On the louder side, a motorbike is also in the works, perfect for zipping around with a bit more speed. And for those who like a bit of company, there’s even a variant of the motorbike that comes with a sidecar.
Work this week is mostly on suspension, sidecar setup, textures, and some other finishing touches. No word for sure when these are going live in the game, but we’ll keep you posted as always.
Seismic sensors
Get ready for an exciting new tool in Rust – the seismic sensor. This nifty device kicks into action whenever an explosion occurs within its vicinity, detecting everything from rockets and C4 to helicopter explosions. It’ll detect anywhere from 1 meter up to 30 meters, making it pretty versatile. Keep in mind, the model you see on staging right now is just a placeholder and isn't the final design.
Hood and cuffs
Development of prisoner hoods and handcuffs is moving along. No visuals or detailed info yet since everything's happening on a separate branch. But it looks like soon we'll be able to snag and restrain other players, adding some serious spice to gameplay. Stay tuned, and start thinking about how you might leverage this new twist to your advantage once it hits!
