Parachute progress
Player parachutes are officially out of concept limbo and are trucking towards production. With a bunch of commits over the past few weeks, it seems like parachutes will be added soon (although not likely for the August update).
Work continues this week on various animations, camera placements, and accounting for things given different scenarios. Along with this, the functionality for parachutes to be shot and damaged has been added, a health indicator on the HUD for how well your parachute is doing has also been added and they are adding a visible backpack for players to be wearing while a packed parachute is equipped (which will not appear on Hazmat and other Hazmat based skins). We’ll keep you posted as more comes to light.
Weapon racks
Over on the Aux1 branch, weapon racks are receiving their finishing touches. With some tweaks, fixes, and the addition of a bunch of items that were not yet compatible, these racks look like they should be ready to spruce up one of your upcoming builds. No confirmation on when exactly and how these will be implemented in the game (DLC or not), we’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
Brick skin tweaks
The newest building skin, Brick, is getting some finishing touches and tweaks. This skin for the stone tier is expected to launch as a DLC with the August 3rd update. Short of a couple more final fixes, it looks like it’s ready to rock and roll! Look for it on the item store before the update and forced wipe next week.
Frontier building skin coming soon
The fourth building skin is in the works on the building skins 4 branch. Named the ‘Frontier skin’, word is this will reflect the old wood skin of Legacy Rust. It looks like there might also be at least one other skin being worked on by the name of Tribalist or Brutalist -- we’ll keep you posted as more comes to light.
Attack helicopter
The newest air vehicle is back in the works. The attack helicopter is getting some love the past two weeks after not being worked on for a month or so. Merged with the Aux2 branch for internal testing, it’s not clear exactly when this will make it into the game. Nevertheless, once it does, it appears as though it’ll be available for purchase at the Air Wolf just like the other flying craft of the game.
Other stuff
More work on the clan table and clan system (potentially coming next week!)
Initial work on a homing missile launcher
No longer cancel the crafting queue when a player goes to sleep
Added an extra collider to the tugboat roof to prevent clipping through during sinking
Work on varying world models for ammo - the world model variations will change based on ammo amount
A bunch more miscellaneous art fixes
First signs of a ‘tutorial island’
Global networked bases progress continues on Aux2
More work on the Rail Network Link - which appears to link the below and above rail networks
More work on a new iteration for Bradley
