12/10 @ 2:15pm EST - Scratch that, a server update just hit, looks like we will see an update today!
12/10 @ 1:30pm EST - The team has continued with a ton of bug fixes over the past few days. No update scheduled for today but stay tuned to the devblog for a full summary.
5:08pm EST - It is the beginning of another 2 week update cycle and the first big game changer is here: Bags in the same area now share cooldown timers. Before we get into that, let’s discuss slots…
Slot reduction
You may have noticed, the number of slots on some of our servers has been reduced. Over the last few updates, the server code has been taking up more and more CPU resources, which has caused our box to start maxing out. Given smooth gameplay is always the priority, we’ve made some adjustments to the slot counts to make sure we have enough resources.
Bag cooldown radius
Shifting the dynamics of base building, raiding, and more: Helk has added a radial sleeping bag cooldown. Basically, when you spawn into a sleeping bag, the cooldown timer is reset for all bags/beds assigned to you in the general area (50m by default, or about 18 foundations apart). This is a big change and I’m excited to see how it plays out. Alos, it’s tied to a server variable, so owners are able to set this radius to whatever they prefer (or just turn it off).

Other fixes
Along with the game changer, Helk and crew have been banging out a bunch of bug fixes. Here are some highlights:
- Fixed lock LOD (so you’ll be able to see it from more than 4 meters away).
- Removed ability to place locks on some things
- Fixed rockets going through building parts
- No more black line on the horizon
- Can no longer throw melee weapons or heal under water
- Fixed some unnatural spine rotations when looking around
- Stuck spears / arrows should always appear
