Throwable rocks!
5:04pm EST - We’re at the halfway point in the week and seeing some Unity updates, performance improvements, and throwable rocks! Remember, no big update is planned for tomorrow, but we can expect to see a devblog. Before we get into it, some of you may be asking...
Where’d the dev branch server go?
There was a Network++ meaning the compatibility of the development branch has shifted. Given this, you’ll need to opt your client into the development branch to play on our dev branch server. Click here for instructions.
Throwable rocks
The starter rock has become more versatile as Alex added throwing ability. Like the spears, right click tosses the rock directly in front of you at one speed. Although it doesn’t travel very far, it does pack a wallop. Initial tests show body shots yielding ~40 damage and a headshot will wound someone who is at 100 hp. Beach battles will never be the same again!
Unity update
Garry has updated to the latest release of Unity (5.2.2f1). This won’t really effect players in a big way, however, you can check out the Unity release notes if you’re interested: https://unity3d.com/unity/whats-new/unity-5.2
Jack o lantern costs
Vince has tweaked the cost of Jack-o-lanterns, making them now cost 2 pumpkins.
Shadow batching
Andre is working on a new branch called, “Shadow batching.” Although this probably won’t change many visual things, it does stand to improve performance.
Purge night
Given our main server is wiping tomorrow at 5pm EST, some moderators and I will be roaming around tonight, getting into some PvP skirmishes. I’ll be streaming our adventures starting around 9pm EST, follow Rustafied on twitch to know when we go live.
Rustafied is an independent operation. Want to show your support? Donate or become a patron. Thank you!
