Shipping Container building skin
After the Adobe DLC going live earlier in the month, the next building skin has appeared on staging. Available for testing if you already own the Adobe skin, Shipping Container is a new style for the Sheet Metal building tier, with a colorful twist!
Along with changing the look and feel like the Adobe skin, Shipping Container skins come with a new feature: changing color. Using the Spray Can item, players with building privilege are able to select from 16 different colors for the outside of shipping containers. Still a work in progress, this is all subject to change. Also, with this new skin, the hammer selection process has been made easier (now using ‘q’ and ‘e’ to swap between skins on the fly when hammer selecting).
As it stands, the Shipping Container building skin DLC will go live with the update and forced wipe on June 1st.
Bag changes
A number of changes to respawning and sleeping bags are in the works. Still a work in progress, it’s probable these changes will make it in for the next update. Here is a summary of what we’re seeing so far:
Default max of 10 beds / bags per player
Respawn options (i.e. delete bag) added to in game map
Allow for the deleting of bags even if still on cooldown
Player deleted bags become public, unclaimed bags
Players involved will be notified when ownership of a sleeping bag changes
Although not available for public testing on staging quite yet, some of this can be gleaned via a video Jake posted in the commits:
Chat emojis incoming 🔥🔥🔥
Over on the Aux2 branch, the initial version of chat emojis has been merged in. Still a work in progress, it was pretty broken during our first testing. Never fear though, Aux2 is for the bleeding edge of work still in progress. No word on exactly when we may see these in game, but it could be as soon as June 1st with the next update and forced wipe.
Hack week projects
Also in progress on various other branches, several hack week projects are moving forward. Remember, hack week projects don’t always make it in the final game, some are just for fun. Here is a summary of what is being worked on:
AI test arena - maybe an easy place to practice PvE and PvP?
AI Improvements - a bunch of tests on improving AI
Charms - like charm bracelets, but for your items
Other stuff
Added support to connect to server via query port (used by steam://connect URLs)
Can now change RF Transmitter frequency while in a hostile TC radius
Fixed corpse & skull not having name hidden in streamer mode
Added Handmade Shotgun Shell ammo box world model variations
Infinite ammo command added for developers
Added a reload all weapons command that reloads all weapons in the hotbar (for admin / developers only).
Ferry Terminal now spawns on procgen map alongside harbors (likely part of the server server transfer stuff, still on a separate branch)
