Siege weapons
Rust is gearing up for some epic battles with a brand-new building system for upcoming siege weapons. Currently in development, this system introduces a fresh way to deploy war machines like catapults, ballista’s, battering rams, and siege towers. When players set these siege items down, they'll start as skeleton structures that must be constructed by hammering them into completion. Upon finishing, the formidable siege weapon fully materializes, ready for action.
What's more, these heavy-duty weapons are designed to be towed by horses and cars, adding a dynamic touch to sieging tactics. There is even talk of explosive catapult ammo. Keep in mind, this is all still in the works on a separate branch, so no visuals or additional details are available yet. Stay tuned for more updates as this exciting feature evolves!
Tier 1 SMG progress
Development is steadily progressing on Rust's new Tier 1 SMG. The team is currently focused on refining various aspects, including modeling, iron sights, and player poses. While this exciting addition is still being crafted on a separate branch, visuals and more detailed information aren't available just yet. Rest assured, we're eager to share updates and will keep you informed as soon as more details emerge about this upcoming weapon.
