Maps, Bags, Stairs and More
These updates went live on our server at 7:30am today. The map has wiped.
New Bug Reporting website
The facepunch forum bug report section started forwarding to a new website this past weekend: http://support.facepunchstudios.com/
So far the site is very active and Garry fixed a bunch of issues today right out of the gate!
Procedural algorithm updated
Over the weekend we we’re seeing some inconsistencies in the procedural map and spawning of resources. Specifically, mac players were operating on a different map level than PC users. This caused for some weird sights:
Fixed craft cancel refund bug
UI lag allowed you to get items and resources by clicking cancel quickly. This is now fixed.
You can walk up stairs
There was an issue where you wouldn't be able to walk smoothly up stairs. Running would get you up but walking was like stop and go traffic during rush hour. Garry made the stair collider convex and now walking up stairs is as smooth as a Newmans bottom.
Bags now save on server restart
Up till now, every time we had to restart the server, even if we loaded the save, sleeping bags lost ownership and your player died. Now when we load a map, your player stays alive and can still respawn in your bags… awesome. Unfortunately, due to the changes in the procedural map algorithm, the load of our map from this weekend didn't work so I was force to wipe a reseed.
Cooldowns fixed
You could previously spam the hammer by clicking quickly. It would register a hit every time you clicked. This was also the case with rock, hatchet and other weapons. The hits are now more in sync with the animations.
Framerate skips when gathering
Some players were experiencing frame rate drops when hitting objects. This has now been addressed.
Objects through triangle foundations
Deployable objects like furnaces and campfires were ending up underneath (on the ground) when placed on a triangle foundations. They are now being placed properly.
Campfires make noise again
No longer do you have to sit mutely by as your meat cooks. Now you have the calming crackling of your campfire to accompany your cooking.
