Fixes and forward progress

12:00am EST - It’s been one week since the update and forced wipe and we’re seeing some fixes along with forward movement on new features.

Fixes

As per usual after a forced wipe and update (especially one as feature-rich as last week), there have been some hotfixes to go live in optional server / client updates. Here is a summary:

  • Fixes to directional sound

  • Fixed unable to drop items when mounted to vehicles

  • Fixed moonpool reflecting the sky

  • Fixed NPCs leaving doors open on the cargo ship

  • Fixed several areas on the oilrig appearing blocked when using low object quality

  • Fixed an issue where patrol helicopter wouldn't shoot rockets

  • Fixed Ping Estimator potentially causing  minor server stall every 5 minutes

  • Updated pilot light on military flamethrower

  • Greatly reduced patrol helicopter event zone stale time

  • Added dedicated Retro Tool Cupboard view to the store page

  • Misc Error fixes


Bike progress

Work on bikes continues as the devs gave us another sneak peek of this upcoming functionality. Based on what we’re seeing, there may be manually operated bicycles along with motorbikes, and even potentially sidecars as well! We’ll keep you posted as more comes to light on this new vehicle type.


Bradley Heavy Scientist

Some changes are in the works for the new scientists which aid Bradley when being attacked. Along with adding heavy scientists into the mix, they will have more aggressive chase behavior and alternate between taking cover and chasing when spawning. These changes will likely go live with the update next month.


Power fixes

After all the improvements to electricity with the update last week, some more fixes and changes are on their way. Here is a summary of what’s been worked on so far:

  • Reduced Electrical Branch minimum branch out power from 2 to 1

  • Reduced electrical button press time from 5s to 1s

  • Reduced power burst from 2 to 1 power (given that they now consume 0 power)

  • Added electricalbattery.charge and electricalbattery.deplete admin commands to respectively charge and deplete a battery easily

  • Fixed electrical components consuming 0 power still mentioning 1 power usage in their information panel

  • Added 'pipette' command: gives you the item you're looking at and places it in your hands

    • If you already have it, swaps it with your currently selected item


Other stuff

  • Movement on nexus / clan system (merged into main - potentially significant)

  • More work on the M939 truck

  • More work on cliff reworks

  • More work on outpost redesign

  • Work on wire slacking

  • Fixes for IO snapping

  • Fixes for Chicken Suit blocking prompts

  • Tweaks to the Patrol Heli behavior

  • Tweaks to Cargo Ship behavior

  • Some rewriting of ping estimation functionality 

  • Fixed storage adaptor not working after reskinning a tool cupboard
