12:00am EST - That’s right! Our yearly charity event, Charitable Rust, takes place this weekend! This year we are proud to support charity: water. The item store skins and Twitch drops go live today and the events kick off this weekend.

As with previous years, we have four skins on the item store, the proceeds of which all go towards this amazing cause. These skins are exclusive to this event, meaning they cannot be traded or purchased after this week. So get them while you can!

Get the drops!

Live all week, the Charitable Rust 2023 Twitch drop campaign is on! Head over to the Facepunch Twitch page to make sure your accounts are linked then go watch your favorite Rust content creator to start getting the drops! All drops are general, meaning you can watch anyone playing Rust to get them (provided they have turned drops on with their channel). These run till next Thursday only, so get them while you can!

Weekend wipe!

The main Charitable Rust event server is a bit different this year. Along with some PvE contests and games like you’re used to, there is also a 2x accelerated vanilla wipe happening on a custom map! Join us when the server opens on Saturday at 10am EST by connecting to:

connect play.charitablerust.com

From there you can play your weekend wipe and at anytime type /hub to head up to the floating islands above. Up there you’ll be able to play games, gamble, try some parkour challenges, or participate in the Art Contest and Talent show for prizes. Check out the official schedule for more information.

Nexus and Oil Team events

Nexus and Oil Team are putting on some events during the weekend, too! On Saturday they will be running a Hunger Games event followed by a Protect the President event on Sunday. Check out the schedule for more information.

Rust-A-Holics Building contest

Are you a master builder? Do you like building roleplaying bases like it's a Sims game? Or are you the one in the team always building the best defensive base against those zergs?

Rust-A-Holics is hosting a Building Contest to honor you builders! There are several different categories that will be awarded (& yes you can enter in multiple categories!) for all you different types of builders!

The server will be opened at 11:00 am EDT (start time of this event) and your build must be completed by 6:00 pm EDT (the end time on this event) to be qualified for judging.

Development news

The team at Facepunch is of course moving along with various things in development. Below is a summary of what’s being worked on this week. We’ll return next week with Halloween news and a summary of what’s going on in Rust development.
