Lunar New Year patch
It’s that time of the year again! Lunar New Year is upon us and Facepunch has some exclusive content planned for the festivities. Going live on the item store today, you can expect a couple of Lunar New Year items including an Ox Mask, Gong, and more. We won’t know the exact details on each item until they are released later today, but keep an eye on the item store this afternoon for the goods. I’ll make sure to update here with more info once it’s available.
Edit: The patch is live and new items are available on the Rust Item Store!

As part of the Lunar festivities, the Firecracker has been made craftable and a default blueprint. This will go live with an optional client update at 2pm EST today.

New twitch drops
The next round of Twitch drops for OG Rust streamers goes live today. With skins for the likes of bchillz, Shadowfrax, trausi, and more, the Rust community is in for another solid week of enjoying Rust streamers to gain their exclusive goods. As always, head to Facepunch’s Twitch page to make sure your account is hooked up to receive drops.
Here’s the list of the expected skins:
Edit: The Facepunch Twitch page has been updated with all the new drops!
Hotfixes aplenty
You may have noticed a couple Rust updates over the past week. Although all of these were technically optional server / client patches, it is highly recommended you run these updates as they fix a number of issues and exploits. If you’ve been around the Rust space for a while you won’t be surprised at a couple fixes following the large monthly update. If you’re new to this whole thing, well, this happens!
Submarine incoming?
Tom Butters has been live streaming some work on an upcoming submarine for Rust. No word on when or how this will work, but exciting to see a new vehicle in progress! Check Toms stream out to keep track of his process.
