Sunburn DLC Summary Video

Here’s a summary video of the new DLC from Puddy!

Sunburn DLC Overview

This warm-weather-themed content features 15 new items, each with various uses and some with different skins. Like the instruments DLC, this summer content provides players access to craft all the included items, however, once crafted, the items may be used by anyone in the game. It’ll be priced at $10 with a 10% discount to start.

This DLC is expected to be available for purchase around when the update hits which is 2pm EST (7pm BST). All servers and players will need to update for the new items to take effect. This will not require a map wipe. All Rustafied servers will wipe with their regular schedule (2pm local for region).

Even though it’s not live, you can find the DLC on Steam now.

Edit: It’s live for purchase on steam now!

Water Pistol

First on the list we have the classic Water Pistol. This little guy squirts water a short distance when you shoot it. To fill it up, simply hold reload while in water (the new pools work great).

Photograph

What good would an instant camera be without the photograph? Well that’s what this is… a picture. You can add a text note on the bottom of it too, which is nice.

Photo frames

Now that you have some photographs, how about we put them on the wall? That’s where Photo Frames come in. Available in 3 sizes (landscape, large, and portrait), the frames can display the photo of your choice. To add your photo, simply place the frame on a wall, hold ‘E’ and select ‘Open’. As an added bonus, you can draw on your photos too.

Above Ground Pool

Bound to be the hub of future Rust water sports, the above ground pool is a large structure which can be deployed on flat ground or foundations. It features a big pool and a pool deck to place all your recently acquired summer deployables.

It’ll have no water to start when you place it, but filling it is pretty straightforward. Simply stand in the pool, press E to open the inventory, then add your water (2000 max).

Beach Chair

Looking to relax after a long day of mowing down Newmans? The Beach Chair is your new best friend. Simply deploy it like anything else, then press E to sit down. Your player will quickly enter a laid back position. Don’t worry about letting your guard down too much though, you can still equip and fire a weapon while seated if need be.

Beach Parasol

Is the sun beating down a little too hard while you lay on your Beach Chair? Never fear, the Beach Parasol is here! This large umbrella provides some much needed shade on those hot summer days (and yes, it does cool your character down when under it).

Beach Table

Now where are you going to place your cocktail while lounging back? The team at Facepunch has you covered with the handy Beach Table. Made of the high quality materials you’ve come to expect from Rust, this table will hold all your imaginary role play goods.

Cost
200 wood
100 metal frags

Crafting time

Beach Towel

Looking to relax out on the beach? You’ll need a Beach Towel of course. Best of all, if you end up getting rolled by a Zerg while paddling out to sea, you can spawn right back on your towel because it functions just like a sleeping bag.

Cost
30 cloth

Crafting time
30 seconds

Boogie Board

Arguably the most impactful addition of the DLC, the Boogie Board allows players to hop on and paddle around the pool or even out to sea if they so choose. Once crafted, simply deploy in water then mount the board. To move around, use the WASD keys. Once done, you can hold E on a floating board to pick it up.

If you end up taking fire, you can stand on the Board and shoot. Keep in mind though, this causes the board to lose durability quickly.

It’s pretty fast for what it is and allows for a new type of solo water travel not previously possible. It also has 7 skins so you can keep things fresh while floating. Could this be the new meta for early game Oil Rig runs? We’ll see…

Cost
75 metal frags
1 tarp

Level 1 required

Available Skins

Inner Tube

Similar to the Boogie Board, the Inner Tube allows players to float around, albeit a bit calmer. It moves much slower than its Board brother, however, the Inner Tube allows players to fire from it while seated. It’s also got 8 skins so you can find the right Tube style for you.

Sunglasses

Are you looking to be the baddest role player in the whole server? Sunglasses are a must. These cool looking spectacles come in 9 different flavors and tint your screen when worn.

Several new swimsuits were added as a new option to change your underwear.
