Decay changes and more progress
12:00am EST - Another week in Rust development and we’re seeing forward progress on a bunch of longer term projects along with some changes to decay making their way in.

Deployable decay
Placing certain items within the bounds of your cupboard has become much more important as the team has made it so some objects now decay quicker when not in building privilege. Specifically, Solar Panels, Chairs, and Large Furnaces will all lose their condition quicker if placed outside of building privilege.
Farming2 progress
More changes to farming coming down the pike this month. In line with the changes above, sprinklers and water barrels will now also decay when placed outside building privilege. In addition, the Water Jug now holds 5000ml instead of 4000ml (to be in line with the water purifier).
Also, input and output slots have been added to the campfire water purifier. The fluid switch has been tweaked as well, with the merge of the Switch On and Switch Off inputs to a single toggle input, which enables the switch when powered and disabled the switch when unpowered.
Finally, the hardiness gene now boosts the temperature happiness in plants also.
Vehicles
Work on the vehicles branch continues this week. The focus this week appears to be on the lift and various collision use cases. Along with fixing some scenarios where cars were not behaving properly, there were several fixes and clean ups for the lift.
Still no word on when this vehicle work will be merged in for testing on staging, but we’ll keep you posted.
New splash screen
When loading up staging, you’ll notice the initial loading screen and seizure warning has been modified this week (after being updated last week initially).
Mixing table
A new branch by the name of ‘mixing table’ made an initial appearance this week. No word yet on exactly what the mixing table will do, but we’ll keep you posted as more comes to light.
