Halloween Event Video

Here’s our spooky update summary video from Puddy!

Halloween event overview

Similar to other holiday events in Rust, the 2019 Halloween Event is going to run for the second half of the month and feature a variety of seasonal items and events in the game. Scheduled to go live with a mandatory patch on Friday, it’ll be active on servers till the next forced wipe on Nov. 7th.

Long and short for this month: Mummies roaming about, Trick or Treat events daily, new store items, spooky skins, and more!

Mummies abound

An updated (and much freakier looking) version of the Scarecrow from last year, Mummies have been added. They roam around the map trying to kill you with various weapons such as chainsaws, sickles, and beancan nades. Their glowing eyes and boorish grunts will surely get you into the Halloween spirit as you roam around looking for candy corn.

Trick or Treat event

Similar to the Egg hunt from the Easter event earlier this year, this years Halloween event features trick or treating! About once every in game day you’ll see a countdown and notice pops up saying “Trick or Treat Starts in: 14 seconds”.

Once it starts, Halloween Candy will spawn around the map. Race to pick up as much as you can within 3 minutes.

Now what do you do with all this candy? Well, like any normal trick-or-treater, you can just shove it all in your gullet till your stomach can’t take any more. You can also upgrade it to higher tiers of candy (loot). See below for more details on each tier.

Oh, and the top three people to get the most candy, get prizes…

Pumpkin Bucket

This handy bucket found in Small Loot Bags allows you to pick up candy quicker during the Trick or Treat event using left click. You can also use right click to throw candy at people - it does about 20hp damage.

Scarecrow Wrap

The Scarecrow Wrap - found in Small Loot Bags - will give you extra candy vision when applied (basically allows you to to see the candy from farther away).

Store items

A bunch of Halloween exclusive (old and new) content is on the item store.

Crate Costume

A new way to hide out around Newmans is here in the form of the Crate Costume. Found in loot, this costume makes you, well, a crate.

Surgeon Scrubs

Another outfit for Trick or Treating is here. The Surgeon Scrubs basically make you look like a doctor who just got done performing heart surgery with a butcher knife. Grab them here on the item store.

Skull Door Knocker

Another spooky item coming with the Halloween patch, the Skull Door Knocker. Placed on a door, it not only looks cool, but the eyes light up with fire when knocked. Grab it here.

Pickup-able resources

You’ll notice a change to the resources you can pick up off the ground with this update. Wood, stone, and ore pick ups are now spooky looking! You can even pick up bones!
