Item stats: An overview of changes

Given the new item system, many stats have shifted on the development branch. In preparation for the launch early next week, we've gathered some numbers for gathering, damage and armor.

  • Used wolf as a baseline, each animal gives different amounts.
  • Bear has most resources, then wolf, deer, boar then chicken.
  • Best item for gathering animals: Hatchet

Notes

  • These numbers are very over powered and likely to change before the launch to main
  • Some clothing does protect better than others. For instance, t-shirts protect 12 from a bullet where a vagabond jacket protects 20
  • Clothing does not protect against stab damage (arrow / spear)
  • Shotguns still appear to do 5 damage per pellet (15 pellets per shot)

Melee damage

  • Most items deal 30 damage per hit (Salvaged, pickaxe, hatchet)
  • Stone spear also deals 30 and has greater range (wood spear is 20 dmg)
  • Rock deals 11 damage, stone hatchet 16
  • Salvaged hammer is no longer as over powered as it was (although still a viable melee weapon considering the low cost)

Other things

Ak is firing crazy fast

This will probably change but the Assault rifle is currently firing at super-sonic speed.


Guns come with some ammo

When you craft or find a gun, they have some ammo already:

  • Thompson comes with 10 rounds
  • Bolt comes with 3 rounds
  • Assault comes with 30 rounds
