Digital clock
Work continues on a new digital clock, a handy addition that's still in the testing stages. This placeable clock not only displays the server time but also allows players to set up to five alarms to pass power through when ringing, making it a practical tool for timing tasks and coordinating activities. There's also a convenient mute button to silence alarms when needed. While the clock is functional, its design is still a work in progress with temporary models and textures, indicating that the final artistic touches are yet to come.
Blow pipe
A new low-tier weapon is set to be added to the Rust arsenal—the blow pipe. This unique addition offers a fresh approach to combat, utilizing bone darts as ammunition. Currently under development on a separate branch, the blow pipe promises to add an intriguing stealth element to the game. Ideal for players looking for a silent and effective way to take down opponents, it looks like other darts including slow movement and obscure vision are in the works. We’ll post more information as it comes to light.
Wall paper
Rust is spicing up base customization with the introduction of a new wallpaper item. Crafting a wallpaper requires just 20 cloth and a brief 5 seconds of your time (default blueprint). Available in several options—yellow, red, blue, and a subway theme—this wallpaper can be applied to any interior walls to add a splash of style to your shelters (with more variants expected in the future). While it brings an aesthetic upgrade, keep in mind that the wallpaper can be destroyed with a few strikes from a hatchet, so it's as much about looks as it is about temporary privacy and customization.
World update
Rust's procedural map is undergoing a sizable transformation with a substantial update currently merged into the Aux2 branch—though it's not yet available for players. This update enriches the game's landscape with a mix of nostalgic and new features, including the legacy rad town, serene lakes, canyons, oasis’s, a jungle biome, revamped cliffs, lush new foliage, and seaweed. The addition of dive sites and ocean wreck buoys brings new exploratory possibilities to the watery depths. Legacy wood piles also make a comeback, enhancing resource gathering.
Also, a fresh element of radioactive water has been introduced; found in barrels and the like, this hazardous liquid can contaminate other water sources, turning them radioactive as well. No word on exactly when all this will go live, but these changes promise to significantly enhance the environmental complexity of Rust.
